Fighting Style, is a zine focused on fighting game characters featuring themselves in multiple types of fashion.This magazine will many sections, from interviews to advertisements to the latest trends. Whether it be street fashion, lolita fashion, kidcore, cyberpunk — all types of fashion are welcome here!This zine will feature fighting games, including Street Fighter, Tekken, King of Fighters, Guilty Gear, and more!

Q. What’s a zine?
A. A zine is an unofficial, collaborative project between artists and/or writers.
Fighting Style in particular is to showcase illustrations and possibly writing of fighting game characters in fashion.
Q. What’s types of fashion will be in the zine?
A. Any! Whether from modern fashion, gothic lolita fashion, kidcore, classic suits and ties — we’re accepting all types of fashion!
Q. Will the zine be in digital or physical format? Will it be free, for-profit, or charity?
A. The zine will have a physical and digital format. Also, the money we received from preorders will go towards charity!
Q. How will contributors be compensated?
A. Contributors will be compensated with a free zine or bundle if sales go well!
Q. Is there an age requirement for the zine?
A. Yes. You must be at least 18 years or older to participate.
Q. How many artists will participate in the zine?
A. Our current lineup is :

Q. Is traditional media allowed?
A. Yes! Both digital and traditional media are very much welcomed to the zine!
Q. Will NSFW and shipping content be allowed in the zine?
A. NSFW and shipping content is not allowed in the zine.
Q. Do I need to be experienced with zines to join?
A. Nope! Whether you’re a beginner with the zine scene or an experienced in general, we will accept anyone regardless of experience!
Q. Do I need a Discord account to join?
A. A Discord account is highly recommended to join!
Q. What size will the page art be?
A. The zine will be in A5 format with 300 as the minimum DPI. CYMK for the physical format and RGB for the format.
Q. How will you rate skills in artists for your selection?
A. For Cover & Page Artists >> We will be looking at portfolios with finished pieces with fully completed backgrounds (or at least one example).
For Merch Artists >> Similarly to Page/Cover Artists, please have a fully viewable portfolio with fully completed pieces. However, this includes merchandise you created in the past!Writers >> We will be looking for writings with correct formatting and grammar. 1-2k word limit.Q. Can I apply for multiple positions?
A. Yes, of course! But don’t apply for two positions if you think you can’t handle it!
Q. Will AI art be allowed in the zine?
A. Absolutely not. Contributors applying and creating artwork with AI art will not be allowed in the zine.
Q. What fighting games will be in the zine?
A. Any fighting game you can think of! This zine will have characters in the likes of: Street Fighter, Tekken, Guilty Gear, and more! Beat ‘em up are included as well!

Application Guidelines

General
To participate, you need to be 18 years or older at the time of acceptance in the zine. If you draw/write NSFW samples, then that’s fine! But please remember that this is a SFW zine, so please bring in SFW pieces as well!
Your works will be judged by your knowledge of anatomy, perspective, composition, color theory, and personal style. Works that include fighting game characters are a huge plus and are highly recommended! Make sure to share your best works!

Page Artist Guidelines
• Provide a portfolio that has at least 5-10 of your strongest works. Please give any warnings if necessary.
• Your portfolio can be Google Drive links. If you have a private portfolio or Drive, please make the links/website accessible. If not, then your application will be disqualified.
• Include at least three pitches in your application.
• Both traditional and digital are acceptable! For traditional artists though, please provide a clear, hi-res scan.
• 1 fighting game artwork is highly recommended.
• If you’re interested in collaborating with a fellow writer, please let us know in your application.
Merch Artist Guidelines

• 1 fighting game artwork is highly recommended.
• If you’re interested in collaborating with a fellow artist, please let us know in your application.
